My special needs child was born weighing one pound and one ounce. He is legally blind in his right eye. John had in home schooling , early intervention and therapy through baby steps. John was followed closely by a pediatric neurologist. John is now sixteen years old, and has a wonderful personality in spite of his special needs.
John now attends a special education class within a regular high school, he plays in the high school band, he dances at their talent shows, he attends their winter balls, he dances at their pep rallies, he also dances at fashion shows and all types of parties. John also plays basketball for special Olympics. He has gone to the state finals two times in the past two years for basketball. He is now playing softball for special Olympics. John has a special gift for dancing, playing the drums, and playing the congas.
